When a private barrel selection bottling of this whiskey sold for 166,000 (US$ 209,462) at an auction in London on July 12th 2020, it shattered the previous $78,000 record for a barrel of bourbon that had been set at a Christies auction.”

Chatham Imports, the new owners of the Michter’s name started a new company called Michter’s Distillery LLC, and operated as an NDP for a number of years, meaning they sourced their whiskeys from other distilleries and bottled it under their own name. Many of these releases have been incredibly sought after, with some early releases of their Michters 10 year old single barrel bourbons rumored to have been sourced from the legendary Stitzel-Weller Distillery.
